10 Undeniable Reasons to Visit Vera this Summer

1 – WE HAVE SOME OF THE BEST BEACHES IN SPAIN

Finding spectacular natural areas in Vera is guaranteed. Enjoy some of the best beaches in Spain and natural parks which will by no means leave you indifferent. If you come to Vera, you must visit “La playa de Los Muertos” a beautiful beach in Cabo de Gata. This is the coastal area of the nature reserve and the turquoise blue waters will take you right to paradise. The “Playazo de Vera” is one of the most beautiful beaches in Almeria and Spain.  It has got lots of fine sand and crystal clear water.

2 – THE FAMOUS SORBAS CAVES

We not only have amazing beaches in Vera, we also have natural landscapes like the Karst in Yesos de Sorbas. Here, more than 1,000 cavities have been excavated in the limestone with a large number of galleries full of stalactites and stalagmites. If you love birds, Vera is exactly what you’re looking for. Vera is the ideal destination for fauna and nature enthusiasts. In places like Laguna de Puerto Rey, La Charca del Gato and El Salar de los Canos, you’ll see flamingos, herons and great egrets if you’re lucky. 4 SPECTACULAR VILLAGES

Some of the most quaint villages in Spain are located in Almeria. Known for its majestic white houses adorned with thousands of colourful flowers, Mojácar presides over the final spur of the Sierra de Cabrera. It’s no doubt a magical environment.

Níjar, the most extensive town in Almería, is home to a few of the most beautiful natural landscapes in southern Spain such as the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. It’s a unique place that combines the best of three very different habitats: the desert, the coast and the sea.

And then there’s Lucainena de las Torres, a village that seems like a time machine that truly takes you straight back to the past with its narrow streets and old houses all around.  It’s a place where you can breathe in peace and nature right away.

5 – THE GIANT GEODE PULPÍ

Discovered in 1999 at the Rica Mine, Pulpí is a geode measuring some 8 metres long and 2 metres tall, covered by enormous limestone crystals. This natural gem is unique in the world due to its magnitude and transparency. It’s a must stop if you’re visiting Almeria!

6 – THE GASTRONOMY IN VERA AND GARRUCHA

One of the strengths of Vera and Garrucha is its spectacular gastronomy. Fate is on your side as you’ll be tasting some dishes to die for in between all your tourism plans. Eastern Almeria offers a rich gastronomy with clear Hispano-Arabic influences. The aromas and flavours lead to one-of-a-kind experiences.
